The Okanagan British Car Club puts on an awesome experience. First thing’s first, I badly need to inflate my tires a bit over stock pressure, as the whitewalls were threatening to kiss the asphalt. Otherwise, I’ve learned several things, namely what it’s like to wrestle a pig and how easy it is to get lost. Sadly, I don’t have any pictures because of time and all that, but I can tell you for sure that I’ll be out next week. Someone is planning on bringing out a Pontiac Parisienne next week, and the Jaguar XJ8 will be returning. I didn’t take out any cones, but I came in a little hot on my last run and ended up passing through the timing lights with the rear tires struggling for traction. Otherwise, amazing experience. I can say with certainty that I’ll be out every week for the rest of the season. Picture of the steed because why not.

Can’t wait until you start beating others in the ‘Vic

The Vic: robust, dependable, long lived, slow and ubiquitous. Easily one of the dullest cars ever produced.

The Crown Vic isn’t my taste either but your comment is unnecessary. If he enjoys the car, let him.

Very nice! Looks like a ‘97 like mine! I’ve been trying to fix mine up to be able to run auto-x or rally-x here soon. If I tried to do it right now though, I’m afraid suspsension component would bust on me, hahaha.

I believe you’re thinking of the Camry. The Crown Vic is at least RWD and has a V8.

I certainly didn’t mean to be spiteful about it, though I can see how it might seem that way. Solid moderating. Thank you for the feedback.

G: I didn’t mean to
hate
on your car. I mean,
solid, robust and dependable
, right? Sorry if I rained on your parade. :/

Oh, if we were talking about a post-1991 Camry, it would have been beneath comment. The Vic is a great car if it’s your taste.

If the Vic could at least
break traction
when you moosh on the gas pedal, then I’d probably feel differently about it.

Good point. And while I don’t know whether I consider the Crown Vic as “my taste” or not, it was free and has been suprisingly fun to drive. I was not ever expecting to enjoying drving such a barge of a vehicle.

Mine does in the rain. Even with the slightest input of throttle. But that’s more due to crappy tires than pure torque.

Take pictures next week and post times.

I autox’d with a guy running a mid 90s Impala SS. There were some beautiful smoky turns and spins. It was magical

I’ve owned four of them. I bought them from municipal auction and turned them around. (AFAIK, the P-71 market is dead and buried.) What they lack is the power of the old LT-1 engine that was found in the 9C1 Impala.

Truth. That LT1 was king. And those were Caprices, not Impalas, IIRC.

Your original description was accurate. There is not a single thing the Crown Vic does better than anything else. I’ll still have fun with it anyways.

I’ll try to.
